Leaving On A Jet Plane

My mom got my step-dad a bi-plane ride over Atlanta & Stone Mountain for their anniversary & last week he was finally able to take his flight. We all headed down to a small airport near here with a restaurant right on the runway. The restaurant had a wonderful patio we could sit on and watch several small planes taking off Jake & Caleb had a lot of fun hanging out watching all the planes.

It was a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Gardening is Fun

Week 4 of our garden and things are still growing strong. Our tomato plants have a lot more flowers, and several of our other plants are starting to flower too.

We did have to plant another blueberry bush...which turned into 2 more. We didn't realize that blueberries weren't self-pollinating & when you plant them you have to plant 2 different types. When I went to pick up another they were only $5 so I had to get 2. The more blueberries we get the better...Yum!

Daily Moments (5/15-5/21)

Another week...seems I didn't get any pictures over the weekend. And every picture I have this week was taken from my phone so not the best pictures.

Monday-May 16th-I found this garden stone kit on clearance at Target a couple weeks ago. Jake had so much fun putting his hand print in and then painting it. He won't let me put it outside and he keeps it right next to his bed.

Tuesday-May 17th-Sometimes our mornings at the park are so exhausting.

Wednesday-May 18th-Jake playing in the living room while I took sometime to menu plan for the following week.

Thursday-May 19th-Spending some time cooling off inside playing Chutes & Ladders. I love that he is at the board game age.

Friday-May 20th- Mommy date at the frozen yogurt place today. Yum!

Meal Plan

I used to post our weekly meal plans, but then I stopped. Not totally sure why...most weeks I still plan our meals, but I guess I have just been sharing other stuff. I have had a couple people asking lately what we eat so I thought I would get back into sharing our meal plan.

Not feeling the itch!

Today we celebrate our 7 year anniversary. Neither of us feel any kind of itch...do you have that during your 7th year or when you are at 7 years? It doesn't matter we don't and are happier then ever.

Happy 7 Years to my wonderful husband...I love you more then I ever knew I could. Each day keeps getting better. Looking forward to the next 7 years and beyond!!

Our wedding song is Tim McGraw-My Best Friend...here is a little bit of the words. And how wonderful it is to know that even 7 years later these words are still true if not more so then they were the day we got married.

Your More than a Lover
There could never be another
To make me feel the way you do
Oh we just get closer
I fall in love all over
Every time I look at you
I don't know where I'd be
without you here with me
Life with you makes perfect sense
You're my best friend

You stand by me
And you believe in me
Like no body ever has
When my world goes crazy
You're right there to save me
You make me see how much I have
I still tremble when we touch
And Oh the look in your eyes
when we make love

I am so blessed to have Jason as my wonderful husband!!

(FYI...I scheduled this post..don't think I am spending our anniversary on the computer)

Garden update & Jake's view

Here is week 3 of our garden...May 9th

Our tomato plants have flowers on them now. Only 1 or 2 on each plant...but flowers will become tomatoes in a few short weeks. Yum!!

After taking our usual weekly picture of Jake in front of the garden and then the close up of our new flowers Jake wanted to take some pictures. So here is our garden from Jake's perspective through the camera lense.

This is up close of our blueberry bush.

Boy Mommy

When I was pregnant with Jake I always said we would be happy with a boy or a girl. I really thought this. We had tried for 2 years and were so thrilled when the stick finally read "pregnant." Of course we would be happy with a boy or girl...we just wanted a healthy baby.

We had a boy name picked out-Jacob Ryan and a girl name-Olivia Grace along with a boy or girl nursery theme.

Our 20 week ultrasound we were so excited and couldn't wait to hear the words boy or girl. The technician said "it's a boy" and we both said Jacob it is...as tears streamed down my face. I cried tears of joy for our little boy, but also I think I shed a few tears because we weren't having a girl.

As soon as we stepped into the elevator to leave the doctor's office I broke down to Jason. I didn't know if I really wanted a boy. I wasn't sure I liked the boy theme we had chosen. And besides...I had no idea what to expect from a boy. I was the oldest of 4 girls(one is my step, but we don't think of her that way), surrounded by girls my whole life. A  boy would be so foreign to me...all the boy parts and stuff.

How could I be a mom of a boy?

Ok, my little freak out lasted about a week and then we were back onto happy soon-to-be parents. Excitedly buying boy things and calling our sweet little baby Jacob inside my belly.

The day my little Jacob was born all of the boy mommy doubt had faded. I had a boy! A precious baby boy who would be a Mommies boy. A boy who would love his Mommy no matter what.

There is just something between a boy and His Mommy that can never be explained in words. I am so blessed to be a boy Mommy!!

God knew what he was doing when he gave us our precious little boy(of course he did...please tell me sometimes you wonder what God was thinking too?)  Jacob has the best Daddy around & he knows all about boy stuff. :) I still don't know that I really do?

But I can't imagine life without our sweet, yet wild little boy....however, sometimes I still wonder...how did I get to be a boy Mommy?

Growing a Garden

I have had so many pictures and things to share the last week that I have just posted about planting our garden, but it has been a couple weeks since then. I want to do a weekly update on our garden, but for this post it is going to be 2 weeks of garden update. Other wise I will forever be behind on our garden updates.

We planted on April 17th...1st week update April 25th...We have sprouts! It was so exciting to go out to the garden and see that the things we had planted as seeds have sprouted. Things are growing!!!

Week 2-May 2nd...

Green beans are here. Growing a garden might be one of my most favorite things. I love going out each day to see how it has changed.

Daily Moments(5/1-5/7)

I am sure you will be shocked we are back to the old Daily Moments format. Although, there are a couple of days without pictures we actually have pictures for most days of the week.

Sunday-May 1st-No picture today

Monday-May 2nd-Playing guitar hero with Daddy...rocking out on the drums
Tuesday-May 3rd-We turned Jake's water table into a sand table...it has been great and he loves it. However, we did the sand table instead of a sand box so he wasn't totally in the sand. But of course leave it to him to climb into the sand table and play.

Wednesday-May 4th-He is too cute!!! He actually asked me to take his picture
Thursday-May 5th-We love our Thursday play dates at the park with sweet friends. We went and fed the ducks today...these ducks came so close and one actually ate the bread out of my hand.

Friday-May 6th-No picture

Saturday-May 7th-Today we celebrated my cousin Shannon's college graduation. From the whole day this is the best picture of Jake I have...and it is too much for a 3 year old to take the time to look up while he is eating.
